Beşiktaş interested in Roman Weidenfeller

According to German sports authority BILD, Beşiktaş are interested in Borussia Dortmund’s Roman Weidenfeller.

Weidenfeller, who turns 35 in August, looks on his way out at Dortmund after 13-years at the club.

The 4-time German international goalkeeper has recently lost his place in Dortmund’s starting eleven to 27-year old Mitchell Langerak.

With Bayern München’s second goalkeeper Pepe Reina looking for first team football and hoping to return to Napoli, the German champions could be interested in Weidenfeller’s services. However, it seems unlikely that the 34-year old will change clubs just to sit on the bench elsewhere.

According to BILD, Fiorentina and Beşiktaş are both willing to offer Weidenfeller an alternative.
