Mircea Lucescu to become new Beşiktaş boss

Updated: May 30, 2015

Lucescu is going to sign a 5-year contract with the Black Eagles in which he’ll earn €4,000,000 annually.

Beşiktaş president Fikret Orman is doing everything to bring Mircea Lucescu to the Vodafone Arena for next season. The Black Eagles, who parted ways with Slaven Bilic today, have reached an agreement with the man who achieved legendary status at the club by winning the league championship in their centenary anniversary season twelve years ago: Mircea Lucescu.

Fikret Orman, who came together with the Romanian coach in Ukraine one week ago, suggested a 5-year contract. Mircea Lucescu accepted the offer but said ”Convince the Shakhtar Donetsk chairman, Rihat Ahmedov to let me go and I’ll happily come to Beşiktaş.” Fikret Orman met up with Ahmedov but received a negative responce to his request, Ahmedov stated that they would not let go of Lucescu.

However, Fikret Orman said, “Let’s meet up again one week later.” and requested an appointment with Ahmedov yet again. The Ukrainian chairman accepted this offer. Mircea Lucescu forwared to Ahmedov that he would like to leave Shakhtar Donetsk because of the civil war. Fikret Orman will go to Ukraine once again next week to complete the deal. Fikret Orman, who’s determined to convince Ahmedov, will sign a 5-year contract with Mircea Lucescu, if he manages to convince Shakthar’s president. The Romanian coach will receive an anuual salary of €4,000,000 from Beşiktaş.

If the Black Eagles can bring in Lucescu, their first transfer will be from Shakhtar Donetsk. Lucescu requested Luis Adriano, who has an expiring contract, to be transferred. The Beşiktaş board members will sit down with the Brazilian striker after Lucescu comes. The 28-year old Luis Adriano, who featured in 31 matches for Shakhtar Donetsk this season, scored 21 goals and assisted 11 more.
