Tolga Zengin not in the matchday squad versus Galatasaray!

Beşiktaş’ number one goalkeeper Tolga Zengin has not been included in the matchday squad for the crucial derby today against Galatasaray at the Atatürk Olimpiyat stadium on matchday 15 of the 2015-2016 Spor Toto Süper Lig season.

The 33 year old goalkeeper made two huge blunders last Thursday in the deciding Europa League group stage game against Sporting Lisbon, costing the Black Eagles qualification from the group.

Tolga has reportedly left the Nevzat Demir complex sepperately from the team and has not been included in the matchday squad due to to a supposed “injury”. It should be noted that last season after a big blunder in the round of 16 against Club Brugge in the Europa League ha also suffered an “injury” five minutes in to the Fenerbahçe – Beşiktaş derby, after which Günay Güvenç replaced him and finished the season as number one with 10 appearances in the Süper Lig.

The report of an injury is most likely a guise and it seems extremely likely that Tolga has played his last game for the Black Eagles as it is expected that they will bring in a new high profile goalkeeper in during the January transfer window. The names of Colombian international David Ospina and Dnipro’s Denys Boyko have been mentioned, interest in David Ospina has even been confirmed by high ranking club officials over the past week.

Tolga Zengin’s contract expires at the end of the current season, he has an optional one year extention in his contract but it seems unlikely that this will be used.
