Slaven Bilić recommends goalkeeper to Beşiktaş

Updated: December 30, 2015

Beşiktaş continue their search for a new goalkeeper, as Habertürk is reporting that the club has started sounding out Lovre Kalinić. The Hajduk Split goalkeeper is someone who is reportedly recommended to the Beşiktaş board by former head coach Slaven Bilić.

Beşiktaş have agreed terms with Denys Boyko and defender Douglas Silva, but can’t seem to close the deal with their club Dnipro. Kalinić is now being regarded as an alternative for Boyko for the situation that Dnipro and Beşiktaş can’t agree over the transfer fee. Kalinić is being regarded as ‘Plan B’, and talks with his manager have been started. Negotiations with his club Hajduk will be started when Boyko can’t be signed, in order to avert a goalkeeper crisis. Dnipro are however expected to lower their demanded transfer fee of € 4 million.

Kalinić is 2.01 meters tall, 25 years old and has 1.5 years remaining on his contract with Hajduk. The goalkeeper has played 2 international games for Croatia and former head coach Bilić has apparently recommended him to Beşiktaş, saying “he is a good goalkeeper, if you sign him he would be useful”.
