Mandanda’s agent confirms Beşiktaş talks

After a stellar performance in the final 32 of the French cup last night, Steve Mandanda may be on the verge of an Olympique Marseille exit.

The 30 year old French international goalkeeper stopped three penalties last night against Caen and has been strongly linked with a January exit. Mandanda has only six months remaining on his contract and it looks likely that he will be headed towards a move to Turkey. Atleast if you’d believe the Turkish media who are already claiming that Mandanda’s proposed move to Beşiktaş is “90% done”.

Foot01 contacted Steve Mandanda’s agent to comment on these rumours and he confirmed that “negotiations are ongoing” with Beşiktaş. But he also emphasized that the deal was no yet done and nothing has been set in stone.

A possible exit for Mandanda would leave Marseille in an awkward position as they’d need to find a new first choice goalkeeper quickly. With only six months remaining on his contract Marseille are willing to let go of their number one and are expected to accept an offer within the area of € 1,5 million.
