The Black Eagles travel to Konya with the difficult task of overcoming the 2-1 home defeat, meaning the Black Eagles will need a 2-0 win at the Torku arena or a 3-2 or bigger scoring one goal margin victory in order to qualify based on away goals.

Beşiktaş seemed to have everything in control in the first leg, leading 1-0 thanks to a first half Cenk Tosun strike, until Marcelo got wrongfully sent off for a last man foul on Rangelov after the latter was in an offside position. This caused the turn-around and Konyaspor first struck on the resulting freekick and later on a corner. Referee Tolga Özkalfa was heavily critisized for his role in the result but at the end of the day the Black Eagles still gave away their lead at conceded two avoidable goals on set-pieces.

Tolgay made his Beşiktaş debut in January 2015 in the Turkish cup, scoring a stunning goal against Sariyer. Now more than a year later he is set to return from a lengthy injury, again in the Turkish cup.

Tolgay Arslan is expected to make his return to the pitch after an 8 month injury break, there is a good chance that he will start in this game and if he doesn’t he will most likely get some time in the second half. Denys Boyko will get his chance between the sticks again, after a not so successful debut in the first leg he will be in search of redemption. Despite making some mistakes at both the Konyaspor goals he also made some good interventions, but Senol Güneş understands that Boyko may need time to get to know his new teammates and is easing him in to the team.

With last week’s result, Beşiktaş will need to press their opponents hard and look for an early goal. While Konyaspor, currently ranked 3rd in the Süper Lig, have proven themselves throughout the season to be a stubborn side to break down. A glimpse of hope however for the Black Eagles might be the fact that they trashed Konyaspor in their league confrontation at the Başakşehir stadium, 4-0, on matchday 17. They know they can beat their opponents and they know they can do so with plenty of goals. But an early goal with certainly be key and they also need to avoid conceding a goal at all costs or the task may become too difficult to overcome.

Can the Black Eagles overcome the result of the first leg? Will Senol Güneş surprise friend and foe with his lineup? Find out tonight on AHaber!

Beşiktaş predicted XI:

Denys Boyko; Andreas Beck – Marcelo Guedes – Alexis Delgado – İsmail Köybaşı; Tolgay Arslan – Oğuzhan Özyakup – José Sosa; Ricardo Quaresma – Gökhan Töre – Cenk Tosun
