Group B Matchday 4

With a stunning victory in Naples the Black Eagles took a huge step towards qualification for either the next round of the Champions or Europa League.

With Benfica’s win in Kyiv the group is wide open as there’s only two points sepperating number 3 from first place. Neither Beşiktaş, Napoli or Benfica can afford a loss at t his point while Dynamo Kyiv’s European adventure will almost certainly be over if they don’t get something from their game in Lisbon.

A win for either Beşiktaş or Napoli would put them in a great position to go through to the next round while Benfica still have to face both the Black Eagles and Napoli in their upcoming two games so they aswell would do best to win their match.

Gökhan İnler has been struggling with a foot injury but is very likely to start against his former club Napoli on Tuesday.

Beşiktaş will be missing several key players due to injuries sustained in the past couple of weeks, Caner Erkin and Anderson Talisca are both out for several omnths while Necip Uysal is doubtful. The Black Eagles have Gökhan İnler, Oğuzhan Özyakup and Atiba Hutchinson returning from injuries but whether they’re all 100% fit to play isn’t entirely certain at this point. At the back the biggest question mark is whether Andreas Beck or Gökhan Gönül will start, given Beck’s solid performance in the first game against Napoli it’s likely that he’ll get the nod from the coach. Between the sticks will be once again Fabri with the trusted duo of Marcelo and Tosic at the heart of defense. Adriano Correia will start at left-back.

Not a lot of options are left in midfield and the Eagles will need to take some risks with Gökhan and Oğuzhan as Necip and Talisca are both ruled out for this match. With that in mind it will probably be a midfield consisting out of Atiba, Tolgay and Gökhan.

Up front we’ll have likely have a surprise on the wings, a first ever Champions League appearance – let alone start – could be in the works for Kerim Frei. But this is far from a certainty at this point. Ricardo Quaresma and Vincent Aboubakar are both shoe ins to start.

Napoli will likely have to do without Dries Mertens, who sustained an injury over the weekend in their clash with Juventus. The Belgian international isn’t entirely ruled out for the match but is very unlikely to start.

Beşiktaş predicted XI:

Fabricio Ramirez; Andreas Beck – Marcelo Guedes – Dusko Tosić – Adriano Correia; Atiba Hutchinson – Gökhan İnler – Tolgay Arslan; Ricardo Quaresma – Vincent Aboubakar – Kerim Frei

Napoli predicted XI:

Pepe Reina; Elseid Hysaj – Koulibaly – Vlad Chiriches – Ivan Strinić; Piotr Zielinski – Amadou Diawara – Marék Hamsik; José Callejón – Manolo Gabbiadini – Lorenzo Insigne
