Potential Beşiktaş Europa League opponents

Updated: December 10, 2016

After having exited the UEFA Champions League as one of the top four best third placed teams, Beşiktaş will be seeded in the draw that occurs on Monday December 13th.

Beşiktaş will face one of the unseeded teams that either ended second in their Europa League group, or one of the Champions League drop outs that weren’t part of the “best four”.

Beşiktaş will start alongside Osmanlispor and Fenerbahçe in the Round of 32 in the Europa League, after which comes the Round of 16, Quarter-finals, semi-finals and ultimately the final. Because Beşiktaş are seeded they will avoid all group winners and the other 3 “top four” third placed teams that dropped off from the Champions League, that leaves four other Champions League drop offs who remained unseeded which are potential opponents for the Black Eagles.

The first leg of the round of 32 matches will take place in mid February 2017.

Here are all the potential opponents for Beşiktaş:

Borussia Mönchengladbach (Germany)
FC Rostov (Russia)
Legia Warsaw (Poland)
Ludogorets Razgrad (Bulgaria)
Manchester United (England)
Olympiakos Piraeus (Greece)
RSC Anderlecht (Belgium)
Athletic Bilbao (Spain)
KAA Gent (Belgium)
AZ Alkmaar (The Netherlands)
FC Astra Giurgiu (Romania)
FC Krasnodar (Russia)
PAOK Saloniki (Greece)
Villarreal CF (Spain)
Celta de Vigo (Spain)
Hapoel Be’er Sheva FC (Israël)
