Beşiktaş set their sights on Samuel Eto’o once again

Updated: December 27, 2016

Beşiktaş have made a new offer for Antalyaspor’s Samuel Eto’o. The club have offered to send Kerim Frei on loan until the end of the season and Ömer Şişmanoğlu as a permanent transfer for the services of Eto’o.

Antalyaspor want to keep Eto’o in the squad, but have not yet responded to this offer. If Antalyaspor accepts, the Cameroonian will be a Beşiktaş player as he is very keen on moving to Istanbul. It is yet to be seen how likely Antalyaspor are willing to let him go however, as president Ali Safak Ozturk reportedly said: “if I sell Eto’o and Antalyaspor relegates, then they will relegate me as well”.

Meanwhile, Antalyaspor head coach Riza Calimbay said: “I don’t have the intention to let him go, but I don’t know what the board thinks. We wanted Kerim Frei, Necip Uysal and Ömer Şişmanoğlu, but Şenol Güneş does not want to let Necip go.”.

The Black Eagles wanted to transfer the striker during the summer as well, but could not reach an agreement with Antalyaspor back then.
