Beşiktaş – Kayserispor post-match reactions

Updated: March 13, 2017

“We lost two points and two players”

Şenol Güneş: “We are playing for the win in every game. All my players have done their best. We took the lead in the second half and had chances, but we conceded goals in an unexpected way. Marcelo’s injury took away our substitution. We knew we were going to get chances against a closed opponent. I congratulate our opponent. They play well and in a high tempo. We lost two points and two players, Tosic and Marcelo. We will have to wait. We are going to do everything we can to win the game against Olympiakos. If we don’t concede as easily as today, we will win our matches.”

“We are in the middle of a difficult schedule”

Atiba Hutchinson: “Both teams had certain chances. We were completely in control of the game. While trying to create chances and play up front we gave our opponents some chances on the counter attack. We fell 1-2 behind, but found the 2-2. Our goal was three points, but regarding the flow of the game 2-2 is not that bad, because we need to take positive things away from this. Not losing is important, now we have to hold our heads high and continue. We are in the middle of a difficult schedule. This game is over, we are now going to focus on Thursday’s game. Especially being mentally ready is important, because this an important game for us and the club. We definitely want to go through in the Europa League.”

“Nice to be man of the match, but…”

Vincent Aboubakar: “Kayserispor is performing very well in the second half of the league. We are playing in the Süper Lig and the Europa League, which gives us a certain physical disadvantage. Kayserispor was in a very good physical shape. We couldn’t start the game the way we wanted to, they started better. Not losing the game is important to me, I’m looking positive at this. If you don’t lose games like these, your self-confidence remains intact. We are definitely not giving up. We are going to continue on this road and become champions. It is nice to be chosen as man of the match, this makes people proud. The most important thing however is the team, not the individual. We lost two points today and that feels sour.”
