Beşiktaş – Adanaspor post-match reactions

Updated: April 24, 2017

“It isn’t over yet”

Şenol Güneş: “The opponent was very resistant and pressed well today. Their second goal went past Oguzhan and Atiba. We shouldn’t have let them shoot. We had more chances, but when you don’t break their resistance they stay in the game. Adanaspor played very aggressive. Aboubakar played very weak after the goal. Tolgay did better. We went through a difficult period. It isn’t over yet. The race will start over and we should be ready for that too. We will now look at the match against Başakşehir.”

“I couldn’t sleep for 2 days after the game against Lyon”

Dusko Tosic: “For me today was really important. I couldn’t sleep for 2 days after the game against Lyon. The 3 days after that game were really difficult. This win really put me and the team at ease. We now have the game against Başakşehir ahead of us. We should be well prepared for that. We have 6 games left. The next 2 weeks are very important.”

“We ran for 120 minutes against Lyon”

Tolgay Arslan: “It was a very important game for me as well. I didn’t play in a long time, but I kept myself ready. I tried to help the team as much as I could. We knew it was going to be a difficult game. We ran for 120 minutes against Lyon, but unfortunately couldn’t go through on penalties. Everyone wanted to play an UEFA final. It was important to open the gap today. I congratulate my teammates.”

“We showed true character”

Vincent Aboubakar: “We knew today’s game was going to be difficult. We showed true character and we are proud. We now have a 7 point lead. We are a quality team.”
